Design Lead – Art Direction | Sydney
We’re looking for a Design Lead to take ownership of creative direction and design excellence within a fast‑paced, healthcare‑focused creative team. This is a senior role for a conceptual thinker and hands‑on designer who can lead projects from idea to execution across print, digital, and integrated campaigns.
As Design Lead, you’ll guide the creative process end‑to‑end, from concept development and layout design to final artwork delivery.
You’ll oversee a small team of designers, ensuring every output meets global brand standards while being adapted thoughtfully for the Australian market. You’ll act as the studio’s design gatekeeper, maintaining internal style guides and championing best practice across all creative work.
Day‑to‑day, you’ll:
- Lead art direction and design across multiple campaigns and channels.
- Collaborate with client service to shape creative solutions and scope project timelines.
- Supervise designers, allocate resources, and review work for quality and accuracy.
- Deliver finished art for print and digital assets, including websites, microsites, and video storyboards.
- Maintain brand consistency and manage creative assets and version control.
- Ensure all outputs meet healthcare and pharmaceutical marketing requirements.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years’ experience in agency or in‑house design at a senior level.
- Tertiary qualifications in Graphic Design, Visual or Applied Communications.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Strong understanding of healthcare and pharmaceutical communications.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead creative teams.
- Deep knowledge of typography, layout, colour, and production processes.
- Familiarity with UX/UI principles and digital design best practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a collaborative, solution‑focused mindset.
